Pick One or 'Other' / Pick One with 'Comment'
Provide respondents with the ability to select one from a few answers choices. Additionally, there is a text field option, allowing the respondent to manually type in an answer or comments.
Check all that apply
Provide respondents with the ability to select one or more options from a list of checkboxes. You can set parameters that require the respondent to make a certain number of selections. Additionally, there is a text field option, allowing the respondent to manually type in an answer or comments.
Rate along the scale
Obtain respondent feedback on various statements or evaluate various products or services by selecting a preset scale from our library or by designing your own.
Absolute rank
When using the 'Rate along a scale' question type, use this feature to prevent respondents from selecting the same rating more than once.
Dropdown box
Provide respondents with the ability to select one from a dropdown list of many answer choices. This question type is extremely useful when the list of answer choices is long, (such as country, language, etc.).
List box
Provide respondents with the ability to select one or more options from a few answers choices. This question type is useful for short lists of choices and for selecting more than one response.
Single line text response
Provide respondents with the ability to type one or more individual lines of text. This question type is useful for gathering user profile information.
Single line text response
Create custom formatting rules that require your respondents to type an answer that meets certain requirements. This question type is useful for making sure data entry is a number, number within a range, e-mail address, date, etc.
Multi-line text response
Provide respondents with the ability to type unlimited free-form text. This question type is useful for gathering additional information or user comments.
Numeric allocation
Allow respondents to enter numerical values and see the total sum of all values entered. This question type is useful for controlling total sum values, such as percentages, that in some cases should add up to 100%.
Compare one against another
Ask respondents to choose between items to indicate which is most preferred. This question type allows you to obtain preference from your respondent by providing a list of compared items that narrows down partiality, even when the respondent is unsure of preference.
Matrix
Use the 3D Matrix to obtain feedback from respondents, on different attributes associated with a product or service, at the same time. This question type allows you to gather information by requiring respondents to provide feedback using numbers, text, checkboxes, scales and drop-down boxes for each attribute.
Question design wizard
Use our Design Wizard to select question types, compose question text, edit answer choices and apply 'advanced features', (such as answer randomization, setting 'E-mail Alerts', adding images etc.).
Copy question/Question library
Copy questions from an existing survey in your account or from the question library into any new survey.
Preferred answer
Use this option to request or entice a respondent to answer a voluntary question.
When this option is set, the responded receives a prompt, upon submitting the survey, to answer this question (if left blank); however, the respondent can still choose to skip the question.
Must answer
Set this option to make a question mandatory.
Hide question
Set this option to hide a question from respondents.
Add numbering to question
Add automatic numbering to your survey questions.
Move questions (up and down)
User-friendly buttons enable you to move any question up or down within your survey.
Question ordering and randomization
Use this option to define question ordering for your survey. There are three options: unchanged order, random order, or randomly order the selected questions only.
Randomize/Rotate answers
Randomize or rotate question answers each time a new respondent takes the survey.
Sort ascending/descending
Sort respondent answers in either ascending or descending order.
Set the answer field width
Define the field width for single line text boxes.
Answer validation - Pre-format answers
Select format validation rules for data entered by respondents. This feature allows you to require field formatting for answers that are decimal numbers, percentages, currency, e-mail addresses and other standard formatting types.
Select answer layout display horizontally/vertically
Define how your answer options display, top to bottom or left to right, and set the number of spaces between items (in the latter case).
Skip logic
Use this unconditional transition to direct all respondents to the same question after clicking the 'Next' button in a survey.
Branch logic
Use this conditional transition to direct respondents to the next question based on their answer (or answers) to the current question.
Branch logic (delayed)
Use this conditional transition to direct respondents to the next question based on their answer to question(s) asked earlier in the same survey.
Branch on range (conditional on score earned)
Use this conditional transition to direct respondents to the next question based on the amount of points scored when answering questions earlier in the same survey.
Advanced logic
Use this conditional transition to direct respondents to the next question based on their answer to a particular question or to the previous question(s). This logic checks for the selection of particular answers in questions.
Piping
Use the Piping feature to extract a response from a previous question and insert it into a following question or into one of the answer options of a following question.

Show click through rate / Show response rate
Select the CTR (click through rate) option to display how many times a survey has been opened and completed, with the resulting ratio representing response rate.
Print to PDF
Use this advanced feature to convert survey questions and answer choices to PDF format. Once converted, your survey can be printed and distributed.
Workflow alert
Use this tool to setup automatic e-mail alerts to team members, respondents or yourself when a specific response to a question is selected by the respondent.
Autofill from URL
Use this feature to pre-populate survey fields with imported data, corresponding to the respondent, which was collected in a different web form (such as e-mail address).

Set survey quota
Set a survey quota that automatically stops the survey upon reaching a predefined number of responses.

Unique response validation
Survey respondents are uniquely identified using multiple mechanisms, including cookies, IP addresses, respondent e-mail address and special respondent ID's.
Ignore repeated response
Prevent respondents from making changes to their survey after it is submitted.
Override with repeated response
Allow respondents to come back and make changes to their survey after it is submitted. This action deletes original responses and replaces them with the new ones.
Allow multiple responses from the same computer
Restrict or allow multiple respondents to submit surveys from the same computer.
E-mail distribution: survey link
Distribute your survey, via e-mail, to e-mail addresses you specify. This feature allows you to compose an e-mail, define the distribution list and set anonymity.
E-mail distribution: display survey inside e-mail
Distribute and display your survey within the body of an e-mail message. This feature allows respondents to take and submit the survey directly from their e-mail application.
Pop-up survey
Display your survey in a pop-up window for each visitor or for every certain numbered visitor to your website. This feature can monitor IP addresses of voters, consequently controlling duplicate responses.

Provide a link to your survey on your website.
Embed survey into web page
Display your survey on any page of your website.
Complex Launch
Choose to launch your survey, using multiple distribution methods, at the same time. This feature allows you to view all results in a combined form.
Unique Link
Using this option, each respondent receives an e-mail invitation with a unique link to your survey. The survey URL begins with the Key Survey domain name.
Unique Link with Password protection
Allows you to generate a unique link, protected with individual password, for each survey taker.
Master Link
The Master Link is the actual URL of your survey. This URL can by copied and pasted onto your website; however, using this general survey link generates responses that are anonymous.
IP address link
Using this link option hides the Key Survey domain name inside the survey link and replaces it with the IP address of our server.
Type in e-mails
Use this method to create an e-mail distribution list for your survey, by manually typing a list of e-mail recipients.
Bulk e-mail address upload
Use this method to create an e-mail distribution list for your survey by importing an existing text file of e-mail addresses.
Additional information upload
Use this feature with the "Bulk e-mail Address Upload" to import additional information on your respondents. Imported information can be used to pre-populate survey answer fields.
Import from Outlook
Export contact records from MS Outlook and import them into the Key Survey address book.
Import from built-in Address book
Distribute your survey via e-mail to addresses saved in your Key Survey address book.
Validate e-mail addresses
Validate e-mail addresses, both typed-in and imported from a file, before attempting distribution.
Distribute e-mail reminder (absolute)
Create and send an e-mail reminder to all recipients of the survey immediately or on a specified date and time.

Personalize survey invitation
Compose an e-mail invitation that is automatically personalized by inserting respondent data (from previous imports) into the e-mail body text.
Respondents opt-out
Provide an 'opt-out' option in the e-mail, which removes recipients from future mailing lists.
Customize 'from' field
Designate a custom name and e-mail address to appear in the "From" field of the survey e-mail invitation.
Receive undelivered e-mails to specified address

Capture respondent e-mail addresses
Capture e-mail addresses for all respondents who completed and submitted the survey. Separately view all respondents who have yet to complete the survey.
Anonymous response
Set this option to turn the respondent e-mail-tracking feature off. With this option, all survey responses are anonymous.
Allow multiple responses from the same address
Use this feature to allow respondents to take the same survey (distributed via our e-mail system) several times. You can distinguish survey results using a unique code and other attributes.
Allow multiple e-mails to the same address
Set this rule to allow your survey to be mailed to the same e-mail recipient multiple times.
Distribution statistics
Review survey distribution statistics, including recipient e-mail addresses, e-mail status, date and time of distribution and graphs displaying voting statistics.
E-mail results
Review survey completion statistics and manage respondents. See a list of all respondents who completed the survey (and when) or respondents who did not complete the survey.
Additional details
Use this option to view delivery information about the e-mail invitations, such as delivery status and time e-mails were sent.

Filtering (real time)

Use this advanced feature to apply complex filtering to your reports. For example, you can create a report that displays output based on a specific question response or the date and time a survey was submitted.
Crosstab tables
Use this feature to compare survey responses. Standard crosstab tables are generated based on responses to specific questions. Advanced crosstab tables are generated based on different respondent groups, (as previously defined by your organization).
Hide some of the responses temporarily
Setup security on report results by temporarily limiting access on a user-by-user basis.
Setting answer labels
Use this feature to add labels to your report questions and answer choices. You can filter responses, set values for statistics, insert time series tables and graphs and select statistical quantities using these labels.
